World Leaders’ Summit on Children’s Rights

The World Centers of Compassion for Children Italia was invited to attend the World Leaders’ Summit on Children’s Rights, which was held on Monday 3 February 2025, in the Clementine Hall of the Apostolic Palace in Vatican City. During the event attended by the Holy Father, our representatives Enzo Cursio and Silvia Manco had the opportunity to meet the two Nobel Peace Prize Laureates: Kailash Satyarthi and Al Gore, former Vice President of the United States of America, as well as former Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi and the Queen of Jordan Rania al-Yasin.
The Summit brought together world leaders, activists and influential personalities to address the challenges that children around the world are facing.
Pope Francis opened the event by welcoming ten children from different countries, listening to their testimonies and highlighting the importance of ensuring a safe and dignified future for them.
During the summit, there was a discussion on poverty, war and exploitation, with a special focus on child victims of war.
